Our History
Summer of 1999: the first seeds of a church in Oak Bluff were planted by Rosenort Fellowship Chapel (RFC) when they began running DVBS (Daily Vacation Bible School) in Oak Bluff.
October of 2004: RFC set aside a day of prayer and fasting seeking God’s direction about a church plant in Oak Bluff. The next day, RFC was contacted by a couple in Oak Bluff, which was seen as a clear confirmation of God’s plan. Prayers and planning began for planting a church.
September 11, 2005: Oak Bluff Bible Church’s first service in the Oak Bluff Community School was led by Pastor Troy Selley.
October 2018: Pastor Troy Selley resigned from OBBC to follow God’s calling on a new ministry opportunity. Pastor John & Connie Reimer began as the interim pastoral couple.
Spring of 2019: We began the process of “setting down roots” through the purchase of a building.
December 2019: We officially purchased the building at 53 PTH 3 and renovations of our sanctuary are beginning with an estimated completion of September 2020.
June 2020: Following several weeks of email-only services due to the closures and restrictions from the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were able to begin meeting again - in our new church parking lot! Enjoying summer & outdoor services.
October 2020: Due to increased restrictions on gathering sizes, we were forced to stop our outdoor services and return to email services until we were able to be in our building.
October 4th, 2020: the active members of OBBC voted in favour of hiring Christian Loewen into a pastor role at OBBC.
March 5th, 2021: The building occupancy permit was approved!
March 14th, 2021: We held our first service in our new building (still under Covid-19 restrictions, limiting us to 55 people in attendance).
September, 2021: Christian Loewen resigned from OBBC. Pastor John & Connie Reimer continue as the interim pastoral couple.
May 15, 2022: 100% of OBBC's active members voted 100% in favour of calling Dave Hildebrandt as Lead Pastor.
August 9th, 2022: Pastor Dave began as Lead Pastor; Pastor John Reimer moved into a part-time associate pastor role.

Please pray that we'll never neglect the greatest work of all; humbling ourselves, becoming like children acknowledging our inadequacy and our dependency on God at all times and for all things. We know He doesn't need us but He has chosen us. Pray that we'll never lose sight of our purpose for being in Oak Bluff, reaching men & women, boys and girls, tell them of the love of Jesus.
